From a world of fear to a world of meaning

The other day I talked about flattening of the world and the effect it has on the need for people to create a stage for themselves and the birth of new heroes.

The hierarchy is no longer determined by power, but by knowledge and “who is good at something”.

Can this be the beginning of a world in which hierarchy is no longer based on fear, but on meaning?

Fame of the individual as innovation’s driving force

We come from a history of obedience to gods and kings. Now the world flattens, we long for a new kind of hierarchy. This is the fame of the individual. How will this drive innovation in your organization?

Look around you on the internet. Everybody is trying to get airtime. I’m no exception. People are willing to give up a lot of privacy for it. And are willing to put a lot of energy in it. You make use of this phenomenon by facilitating and cheering people who do the right thing for the company. Give them a stage in the form of blog, podcast or screencast. They will flourish and so will the company.

Give your workforce a stage in the form of a blog, podcast or screencast.
